Custom Homes & Renovations, Built Around How You Live

Serving homeowners in Medford and the surrounding South Jersey communities, from new builds to additions and major remodels.

Building More Than a Home

Most families who call us aren't just building or renovating a house, they're deciding what the next chapter of their life looks like. A first-floor primary suite. A kitchen big enough for the whole family. A layout that finally works instead of one they've adapted around for years.

J. Reynolds Custom Homes and Renovations, Inc. has been building custom homes and handling major renovations and additions for homeowners across Medford, Medford Lakes, Moorestown, Haddonfield, and the surrounding South Jersey communities. Most new clients still come to us the same way they always have: a referral from someone we've already built for.

Core Services

From new custom homes to major renovations, additions, and specialty log home work, here's where our experience runs deepest.

New Custom Homes

Building a custom home starts with figuring out how you actually want to live, then designing and building a house around it. As your custom home builder, we handle the planning, coordination, and construction from your own lot to the finished walkthrough, so the house that gets built is the one you pictured. → New Custom Homes

Major Home Renovations

Whole house renovations for South Jersey homeowners taking on a major, comprehensive remodel. We manage the full scope of the project, from planning through construction, for homes being transformed room by room. → Major Home Renovations

Home Additions

Sometimes the answer isn't a new house, it's more room in the one you already have. Whether that's a second story, an in-law suite, or expanding your living space, a well-planned addition lets you stay in the home and neighborhood you love while gaining the space your family actually needs. → Home Additions

Tear-Down and Rebuild

Sometimes the property is right, but the house on it isn't. A tear-down rebuild lets you replace an outdated home with a new custom home built for how you live now, without giving up the location you're not willing to leave. → Tear-Down and Rebuild

Log Home Construction, Remodeling and Additions

Log homes take a different kind of expertise, and not every builder has it. J. Reynolds sources cedar locally, seals every side of the log, and builds additions that match the original construction, work we're especially known for in Medford Lakes. → Log Home Construction, Remodeling and Additions

Planning and Design Coordination

Not sure where to start, or don't have an architect lined up yet? That's alright. We help homeowners work through the early decisions, whether that means coordinating your existing team or helping you build one, so you know what's possible before committing to a direction. → Planning and Design Coordination

Why Choose J. Reynolds?

Building or renovating a home this significant means trusting someone with a lot: your budget, your timeline, and the place you're going to live. Here's how we try to earn that.

Honest Guidance

A lot of people call us with an idea and no sense of what it actually costs. We'd rather spend an hour walking through the real numbers with you than let you spend months on drawings for a project that was never going to fit your budget. If something isn't realistic, we'll tell you early, not after you've already committed.

Relationship First

Nearly all of our work comes from referrals, past clients, and word of mouth. We've never relied on cold advertising because the relationship is the reputation. We take the time to make you comfortable with us early on, because a good relationship with a client often outlasts the project itself.

Communication

Our team will be in constant communication with you throughout the project. Your Lead Carpenter is on site every day as your point of contact, while our Project Managers keep deliveries, inspections, and scheduling moving. Budgets and selections are tracked from the start, and everything lives in an easy-to-access online portal.

Craftsmanship /
Doing It Right

For years, Jeff was on-site every day from start to finish on every project, a habit that's stuck because it works. Catching a problem early, before it becomes a bigger one, is a big part of how we operate. And if a mistake happens on our end, we fix it. It doesn't get passed along to you.

What Our Clients Are Saying

FAQs

When should I contact a custom home builder?

Earlier than you probably think. You don't need land, an architect, or finished blueprints before calling.

Is it cheaper to renovate or tear-down and rebuild?

Depending on the scope of the project, it may be cheaper to do a tear-down.

Can I still live in my home during a whole home renovation?

In many cases, yes, though it depends on the scope of work. We'll talk through what that's realistically going to look like before construction starts.

Will my addition match the rest of my house?

Yes. Matching the existing structure, inside and out, is part of what makes an addition feel like it was always there.

Do I need my own architect before I call you?

No. We can coordinate the whole process for you, or work alongside an architect you've already hired.

What's the difference between whole log, half log, and milled log construction?

Whole log is traditional log cabin construction. Half log, or log siding, is conventional framing with half-round logs applied to the exterior. Milled log uses machine-profiled logs for a more consistent look.
